Big Perch pictures, look out for more in next week’s Angling Times

So here it is – the fish I’ve been after for weeks and weeks. I caught it yesterday morning on the River Cam and you can read all about in a big feature in next Wednesday’s (2/12/09) Angling Times.

I look a little tired because I didn’t actually get any sleep the night before, but it was worth it.

Tight lines,

Ben

  1. Hey, thanks for sending me this link. Our perch don’t get that big over here! Not that I’ve seen anyway. Our perch also don’t have that killer looking fin. I suppose we have the simple, sweet, version. You don’t look tired to me, you look like a proud fisherman, as you should be!

    • Thank you so much for your kind comments! That perch took many hours and early mornings / late nights to catch so it was satisfying moment when I finally got it on Sunday. I like perch and they’re really awesome fish but just not very big – my next target is a seriously big pike. Twenty pounds at least.

But I caught the perch for a feature for Angling Times, which is like the Wall Street Journal of fishing in the UK. I’ll post links / scans when it’s out next Wednesday. Part of the reason I was fishing there is because it’s a stunning place to fish: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3111/2883902237_f5a0407aa8.jpg
